Hmm - will have to talk real nice to mother, as hubby will be up on Koolan Island. We are supposed to be down for a somewhat belated birthday party for the daughter on the 13th (yes we told her it was mothers day then)

26th works perfectly for my WA trip.
Flights are booked. I fly in on Wednesday 23rd of May and fly out again on Saturday 2nd of June.
Now all I have to sort out is where i'm going, where I'm staying, and how to get there...

Actually, I will probably just get a hire car for the duration. It's just a matter of finding the best deal.
What I could really use help with is in finding the best locations to visit to get the birds I'm after. I have yet to find the time to write up a full list of what I'm hoping to get, but you can take it as read that I want as many of the Sout-West endemics as I can get. Red-eared Firetail is top of the list, closely followed by Red-capped Parrot and Western Spinebill. Once I have figured out where the best sites are, I can then book accommodation accordingly.
I really need to knuckle down and start planning out my trip, but it's been so busy at work the last couple of weeks, it's been hard to find any free time. Anyway, I don't know if it's appropriate to hijack this thread with too much discussion of the above, so if you'd like to help, please PM me.

I believe Murdoch Uni's grounds are great for twitching. But Spanna would know more about that than I do.

Madhatter I am currently looking for areas that can contain all three, not far from me I have been told you can bring red ears in with a bit of seed, how true it is I am not sure. around here if the newholland are away the spinebills are in, but we have alot of newhollands at the moment.. pete
