Seageen Mutation Red Faced Parrot Finches

I have found these in a collection of finches that i bought them from a guy down country that was moving to Aussie along with 5 hen and 2 cock plumheads with some Orange Breasts.

I have a split to split pair and a pure cock to split hen pair

Questions
Recessive or Sex linked or something else
What will be percentage of pures or splits or normals out of each clutch
In a clutch do they have more hens or more cocks

As you can see i am not good with mutations but willing to give a go in these and we dont have many mutations in finch species here
These were common in 90's here apparently but quite uncommon now

As far as I know the sea green mutation is sex linked recessive, which means only a cock can be split... I've never kept them though.

IF I am right though, this would mean your "split cock split hen(impossible) pair" will give you on average 25% split cocks, 25% normal cocks, 25% seagreen hens and 25% normal hens.
The coloured cock with what is most likely actually a normal hen will give you %50 split cocks, %50 seagreen hens.

Please, as always, those who know better feel free to correct me!!!

like spanna said , sea green is sex linked , a female is either a sea green or a normal , they can never be split.
A male on the other hand can be split or sea green . so your pair will give if you say its a sg cock and split hen (which is impossible)will be seagreen hen s and split males....its one way of getting guarenteed sea green hens....pete

Ok that was what i was told when i brought them so i have probaly got a
Split cock to Normal Hen
Pure Cock to Normal Hen
But I have Pure Hen coming in a months time hopefully will that produce all pure hens and cocks
Only problem i worry about are chicks going to weak Pure to Pure

As spanna and poitta have mentioned the heredity of the seagreen is sex-linked.
There is also a topic on mutation inheritance on the forum listing all the variations of young expected from different pairings.

pure to pure shouldn't be week , they have been around long enough to be strong enough. If your really woried about it keep all the hens you produce from the sea green male to normal hen that are seagreen and work from there, pairing them to sea green cock birds.

That way you know how strong they should be... pete
