Hi,
The storm on the afternoon of Sunday 10th June took the fence and holding / gouldian breeding aviary with it. The result was I lost 3 breeding pairs of gouldians and three youngsters, 3 KIA and others lost to the elements. Poor buggers. RIP. Perth people will know of the ferocity of that storm. And tonight as I write this, we (south west WA residents) are waiting for the next damaging winds due very soon. 110 km per hour winds. I hope my other bigger aviary holds out. The squalls have started with the rains now, the patio roof sheets are shaking, the first black out just occured. We went for two days without power since Sunday..

I'd been wondering how our members over in WA were faring with the tornados and storms this week. Sorry to see your aviary flattened and your birds gone BJohn. A stronger frame for the rebuild I guess.

Sorry to hear about your aviary and birds. I am sure that there will be more reports of loss of aviarys and birds.

Just hope all members in WA are safe.

Although it hurts to lose birds, they can be replaced, as long as you and your families are all okay.

We had our tree fall down onto the corner of our house.

Thankfully it missed our aviaries by a matter of inches, but caused a small amount of damage to the guttering and roof. It's sad, but I think we were extremely thankful that our aviaries managed to go unscathed, and after Kylie has checked this morning, we look to have had no casualties *phew*

This was about 2am this morning

This was at 7am this morning, after I managed to have a couple more hours sleep and Kylie slept on the couch for maybe another hour..

So I've gone to work this morning and Kylie has stayed home to sort stuff out, and this is what I arrive to this morning!!

Thankfully our pets and birds are okay and the majority of the house is okay too! :)

So sorry to hear things went badly for you BJohn. And glad it was not too bad for you Venetta.
Hope everyone else in WA got off with just a drenching like we did in the Midwest.
