"Chia seeds are an ancient superfood from the Central American region. It is said that the Aztec warriors survived on only Chia seed during the conquests."

I am supposing either white or black chai are both fine to use ? Also another supergrain i feed to my dogs is Amaranth. An ancient Aztec grain. I have been wondering for a while now if Amaranth is ok to add to my finches and canaries normal seed as a health booster - I am guessing if Chai is ok, Amaranth would be as well.
