HI Guys,
Noticed that my green singer hen has started plucking her breast feathers out.
Any ideas why and/or how I can stop this?
She is in a large aviary and is given the option of greens and live food everyday plus a good mix of seeds.
until yesterday she shared the aviary with 5 border canaries which have since been removed to their breeding cabinets as I prep them for spring.
She doesnt appear to be stressed and there is plenty of nesting material available for her should she be trying to build a nest.
I think she would be too young for nest building anyhow as she is last years stock.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
El Feroz

Hi,
Maybe she is stressed and bored as there is none others of her species to socialize with.

I might say stressed.
there is a male green singer with her and they are always feeding together.
He recently has started singing again.
Not too sure
