The coldest minimum temps since 1977 for Alice this month , average in the mornings -0.3 and at work we wouild have been a few degrees colder than that. Wednesday was -6.8 deg. Day time temps averaged 19 deg and there has been no rain for quite some time.
Good news, spotted a Grey Falcon at work yesterday morning. A first recorded sighting at the desert park.

It seems to be the same across the Southern Hemisphere DB,

Not only has it been unseasonably cold across SE Qld, I have just come back from a trip to southern Africa where everyone was complaining about how cold it was in the mornings. The days though were beautiful and sunny, not a drop of rain in 4 weeks!

 I had doubts about them being real too Jayburd, but i know now. Fortunately i had a witness too. Just missed a pic, apparently they have recently been spotted at the poo ponds too. I reckon that bird will turn up again, due to the dry weather the park is now bird central , its awesome.

I think there may be the odd pair of binoculars out at the Park today . I radio called one of the keepers as soon as i spotted the Falcon but he doesnt like answering his radio at smoko, in case its work related. When he found out what he missed- :hothead:
