We have taken our zebra couple out of the flight cage they were sharing with numerous other breeds (male dominated) so they can have more privacy with their egglets , they seem to have been sitting in there happily but at times the bengal would have a sit as well , the others were intrigued to so we thought it best to move them and the basket to another cage , was this the right thing to do ?? since we did that (last night) she has laid 2 ,more eggs but thrown two :/

Being disturbed and put into another area is probably why they threw the eggs...all going well they may sit on the next 2 eggs...if not leave them be and I'm sure they will start again pretty quick...but try not to disturb them..

thank you so so much for that info vettepilot :) so the other breeds wouldnt have bothered the 2 little love birds in the first place ?? see our male zebra has a broken leg (he came to us injured like that as he was being chased by a mina bird) and I am not sure if he can even fertalise the eggs given his balance isnt that good , so maybe thats why she is throwing them as well as they have all broken with little yolks in them as it is , she is still sitting on 2 at the moment though :)

Zebra finches are usually very territorial of their nest area...given you have moved them now they will probably settle down and providing he has fertilised the eggs you will get young fingers crossed..
