I was wondering, how do i get my goldfinches to breed? I have had them in an aviary for a while and never been able to breed them!! If I could have a little advice on how to breed these!

Supply some brush plenty of oily seeds and some Greens and some live food and they should breed.

my goldfinches prefer maggots over mealworms

my rooster goldie used to eat heaps of mealies!

Hi Jack from my experience you have to bring the goldfinches into condition and offer privacy.If they take live food its great but not necessary.I got by with a good eggfood mixture and all the wild greens(dandelion,thistle,chicory,sunflower heads) you can get your hands on.Be patient and try to spoil them as best you can.They use open nest canary pans and for nesting material break some hessian bag into string pieces with some white cotton.They can be difficult to breed and they are also late breeders.Hens take their time until they feel secure and like what they can eat and see.Goodluck
