As it looks like the Green Milk Seed (WFM) will be arriving later than I hoped I am concerned that I wont have a highly nutritiouos seed that my Gouldians love before the breeding season starts...my birds look like they will be finished their moult be the end of the month, hence being ready for their breeding season late Dec/early Jan.
As my Gould's favourite 3 food sources (in order) are collected wild seeds from my local area (only available in Spring so not available when they really need it.....I do freeze some of it but not enough to get through the breeding season), Panarama millet spray and milk seed, I was planning to increase the availability of millet spray at the beginning of the 2013 breeding season until the milk seed arrives.
I purchase my panarama millet spray from a farmer in Queensland (seems like everything my birds love comes from Q'Land
) at a cost of roughly $10/kg (including freight).So I am happy to organise a bulk order for people on this forum as an interum solution to the late arrival of the milk seed. So if we can get enough people involved so that we have 500+ kg of millet spray I am happy to organise it.
So if you are interested in this please PM me. (To keep things simple for me orders will need to be a minimum of 10 kg's)
If there is enough interest over the next 2 weeks I will arrange for this to go ahead, otherwise we will just wait for the milk seed to arrive in Jan.
(For those who haven't given the panarama millet spray to their birds and don't know how much they will need....I have 20 pairs of Gouldians who need 20 Kg's of Milk Seed - WFM on an annual basis. My birds would go through twice that amount of millet spray if I gave them the choice.)
