Its just about Aviary setting up time again, reading through some of AA magazines from years gone by, I read with interest that once Aviaries were set up, the practice was, that a number of Gouldian breeders
released Hens first into the Aviary by them selfs, for eight days, before introducing the Cock birds, the Idea behind it was that the Hens would sort them selfs out and lay claim to a nesting box that suited them in term of size, shape, hight, position and which direction the entrance hole faces, so once the Cocks are added their will be no more or little squabbling over nesting sites, it makes a lot of sense when you think about it, Hens choose the Boxes, not Cocks, so the time Hens spend by them selfsand all the fist fights will be over, things will settle down very quickly and they will get on with it, I will give it a go.

When I was breeding Crimsons I did the same thing...but only one pair per aviary...

With the rarer species I always try to release the hen in the aviary at least 24hrs ahead of the male.
It enables her to find seed and water etc incase the male is agressive when he is released
