Just got me curious ..im sure iv read on her that there are no toucans in Australia?.I saw in the telegraph today a story about that poor policeman killed at winsor and the story said that the mongral neighbours were firing arrows into an aviery of Macaws and Toucans??

Hi Amalan,

As far as it is possible to be certain about these things, there are no toucans in Australia, but there have been rumours from time to time, none of which have been substantiated so far.

You'd also be amazed at how many people confuse toucans with macaws- many can't even tell the difference between a yellow budgie and a canary, let alone distinguishing between multi-coloured birds.

They are sometimes advertised on the pet link type pages ...Toucans or Toucan eggs , all scams .

ha thats what I thought..if the guy realy had toucans I guess hes now got to hide them lol.Mind you apparently he has bikie links or something so trying to rip off his birds would not be a good idea

As well as the toucans, the other thing that surprised me with the article in the Telegraph was that they stated that the bloke had over 2,000 pigeons. That would have to be the biggest pigeon loft in the world.

I must say toucans aremy avian obsession!!!
They are such active, vibrant birds.
I'm planning a trip to USA next yearor 2014 and hope to see some toucans being bred over there. Here's hoping! :)
