If the lightning and thunder was not bad enough here tonight then the f#*!& cats fighting or mating behind one of the
aviaries topped it off. Ran outside to the sound of birds hitting the wire all over the place, some birds hanging onto
the wire. Left the lights on until they settled. Will check the damage in the morning.

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

I had cats fight on the roof of an aviary many years ago, I only had a light in the middle of the yard at the time, I lost a lot of young, I was still in process of setting up the electric fence.
When I had the electric fence set up down the Central coast I found the cats can sensed when its turned on, its funny one time there was a ginger cat sleeping on my walk in part of an aviary & he was using the wires that run across like a pillow, I got my wife to go turn the power on, lol, it did a somersault backwards, I know some might say its cruel but I did enjoy watching it, lol, especially after the amount of troubles I had with cats, the damn things were so bad I use to chase them with a hose.
The way I found out about they sense the wire is I had my aviaries connected to my tin shed & one day this cat was on it & walked right through the wires, so I switched on the fence, I then waited for the zap, he put his face right up to it, then stopped & jumped right over the top, needless to say I had to change the way I set it up.
I must admit after getting rid of all my quail I had less cat problems.
