It seems like I am having an ordinary breeding season thus far, the weather down here cant make up its mind, stinking hot one day, then cool/ thunder, back to hot again....

Hasnt helped the birds it would appear, first sisken clutch desserted after thunderstorms, second, 1 fledged on stinking hot day never to be seen again
Second pair in avairy by themselves dont even look interested at the moment, he is doing lots of singing

TC parrot finches had clear eggs, first gouldian clutch clear as well, but they are now down again.

On the positve, 3 emblemas fledged (but lost one after thunderstorms) with parents back down again.

Is anyone else having this sort of season, hoping for some better luck in 2013.

Your not alone on that one, I put a few black rump double bars and goulds on the perch, a fair few neophemas and quail . But mid season some things happened and also with the heat we had the other week over christmas here I lost a nest of wrens that were about to fledge.

The mice have got hold while I was distracted and now hopefully under control again , snakes and flippen hawks keeping me on my toes its been a wonderful 2012 . Hard to type sarcasm. where smy mate buzz to help...

So heres to 2013.....Pete
