I am having difficulty working out how to easily mount cuttlebone. I've tried wire in different configurations, cable ties etc. The birds don't seem to care but I'd like a more efficient solution.

I have seen Misso's cuttlebone holders but can't find a source for them in AU.

Or being an ex chippy,a two inch nail in the wall slightly bent up or a welders earth clamp screwed to the wall or old jumper lead clamps. It doesn't have to be fandangle. Craig

On breeding cages, I drill a hole through the cuttlebone and use a cable tie to attach it to the front of the cage above the perch.

When the birds have eaten through it, if there is any cuttlebone left I grind it into a powder and add it to the grit.

I then cut off the cable tie and attach a new piece of cuttlebone.

Hanging cuttle bone on wire or cage fronts can cause problems, cage fronts/wire will eventually rust away, another way to avoid this is to hang it on coat hanger wire from the roof in multi pieces like a shishkibob? but this would only work in aviaries. Craig

We have a winner

Grabbed a couple of large clothes pegs, a bit of fencing wire through the spring and around the wire mesh, job done, happy birds and happy me. The pegs also keep the cuttlebone off the wire to reduce rusting.
