Hey,
Just wondering if anyone is showing any birds at the Royal this year?
I'll be there tomorrow which is the display day after today's judging of the Caged Birds.
I noticed there was an increase in numbers when I was dropping mine off yesterday, a heap of canaries and a few finches...
I might see you there tomorrow if anyone is...
Cheers,
Tim

I entered some Border Fancy canaries and Lizard canaries, as the clubs were asking for people to enter birds to increase the number of birds on display.
The main problem is that most of my birds are still moulting and not in perfect feather. I don't usually show my canaries until late April each year. That will be no excuse as all the other exhibitors are in the same position.
I understand that the presentation will be on Friday at 5pm in the Wynne Pavillion, and the birds will be taken home afterwards, so if you want to see the caged birds at the Sydney Royal Easter Show then Friday will be the last chance.
If you are there between 4 and 5pm I will be there.

Thanks Greg, sorry I didn't get to catch up with you.
I promised myself that this year I would support the hobby by showing more so the results were encouraging...
One of the blokes from the club has taken lots of pic's so once he emails me, I'll put some up.
The Manly Warringah Avicutural Society show is next on my list which is in April, so I'm looking forward to that one. It was a good day out last year.

I'm glad to hear that there was some rallying to put up some Cage Birds at the Show. From what I hear the show doesn't look after participants like they used to, so its sounds like its more a labor of love these days. However I think that is exactly what the Easter Show is and its one of the highest profile exhibitions to promote Finch/Canary/Cagebirds of its kind (including birdkeeping in general) in Sydney. Where the effort taken to show the birds does not quite reflect the reward in prizes I believe to exhibit birds at the Easter Show does a great service to promoting Aviculture in general and it is one of the best opportunities to do so in the public eye. My respect to all that participated.
I hope that I can join in the near future.
I'll be at the Manly Show this next month, we (ABBS) are hoping to promote the Bengalese Finch as a Showbird, and in paricular the Self. At present there will hopefully be in excess of 50 Bengos there. I'll hope to see you there.
Kind Regards.
