G'day David, Frozen pupae becomes rancid not very long after it thaws so it's not a good idea for feeding finches long term. Why don't you do your own maggots, you and Jeremy used to do them didn't you. Craig

I had several boxes of frozen ones given to me by work - finches loved them, and the pupae didn't stick around long enough to go rancid
I used them for about a month before running out - and intend to use them again, finches went nuts for them!

Owppps, thats not what i meant Jay,they are not like maggots where you can have them there all day into the next day before the next top up and excess pupae will go off before the next top up.
You need to have constant live food in an aviary at all times because once its gone,so are most of your young ones imo Craig

Yep we did, but I am looking for easy ways of doing things now, I dont want to get so involved if I can help it. But, as in life, there are no short cuts to success and I thought that may be the case. Just thought I would ask

I just checked it out and they have the prices listed under the individual products. They list by number of gents, meal worms etc, rather than by weight. Strangly enough I've never counted the number of meal worms in a container :boggle:
