Hi all,
Did my first treatment of moxi plus today on all my gouldians, how long before I should see improvement in a couple of birds who had the beak whiping etc symptoms? Also wondering is there any specific treatment regime of a baycox/moxidectin plus mix that has been used so birds can be treated for worms, air sac mite and coccidiosis all at once?
Thanks

Hi Brodz, most breeders i know mix Baycox and Moxidectin plus together in their specified doses with no ill effects,i have been doing it for a few years now but only at 6 month intervals, Cheers CraigBrodz wrote:Hi all,

I worm (using moxi+) every 3 months on the 1st Jan, 1st Apr, 1st July and 1st Oct. I don't mix Baycox with Moxi+ as I tend to only use Baycox after there's been a wet spell but like Craig I know many who mix the 2 without issue.

Yep, like the guys said.......I run Baycox and Moxi together every 3 months at the prescribed dose......also do an extra Baycox after prolonged rain periods.......I tend to be flexible with timing if I know there are hatchlings in nests, preferring to let them grow a bit..........Crook birds get caught up and get heat & electolytes to get them well enough before any medication is given......but I dont get too many of those
....touch wood

Re the improvement time...I noticed some birds picked up after a week....but others may have been too late and bit the dust.
I think these medications used in a timely and appropriate manner work best.
In the case where I lost a bird I may have been too late...I got it from a shady fellow at a bird sale which also highlights the importance on quarantine.

I thought MOXI was only used for a day? And baycox for 2? Should I have done the MOXI for 2-3 days??
