i have a hen star finch thats always fluffed and sleeps all the time with her head tucked into her back, she spends a lot of her time sleeping under a heat lamp but she does eat/drink normally. on the occassion she will fly down and have a mooch about on the floor but she isnt really active at all. i was given the bird because she was like this and she's been like it for about 2 months or so now. just wondering if anyone might have any tips? she is in a large mixed aviary with mostly gouldians and 3 other stars and a few shaft tails. thanks

Obviously whatever she has is not contagious? I would take some poop samples down to vet, try and find answer that way..

She might be an old star finch or she is sick. Examine her droppings to see if they are normal. There shouldn't be too much liquid and the solid part should not be red or green.
Have a nice day!
