spirulina and its uses

Hi guys ,
Just out of curiosity how does everyone use spirulina ?
Im about to commence using it for the first time and was wondering whats the best method for optimum uptake.?
I have synergy natural premium spirulina powder that I purchased at Coles for $23 for a 200g tub (if anyones looking)
I make up 1kg containers of sprouted seed to which I add a mixture of probiotic powder , D3 powder , egg & biscuit , insectivores mix , soft food and a small amount of powdered chicken crumbles and finch crumble... I used a bit of cod liver oil to keep it on the seed , this I then freeze in a deep freeze ... should I add spirulina to my mix ?
How much spirulina should I add per kilo or should I use it separately ?
Forgive my ignorance but I couldn't seem to find any info on any threads about the powdered form amounts ... only tab form
Cheers ,
Brad

A little bit goes a long way as you'll find out when you start to mix it. A teaspoon is a fair bit of spirulina with its very fine particle size & strong pigment you can see it through whatever you mix it into.

Also, avoid mixing with your hands or you will end up with green hands,i find it easier to to use a plastic bottle with small 1mm holes drilled in the lid used as a shaker and sprinkle on top of your soft food before you feed it out. Craig

A little sprinkle for all the parrots here from hand reared bubs to old retired farts .
Caution ..never use it to cook bird bread , stinks to high heaven and wafts for days .

Empty glass juice bottle and a few holes in the lid makes life easier when sprinkling it in or on food .
