Not much to do - keep the niger and other oil seeds up and now tell us what you've done?
This year all mine are just sitting around singing and I understand this to be the case with many Red siskins this year - in the Sydney area at least.

Thanks for that,
Just connifer bush rolled up in big wire. The siskins in the other section nested in bushy tree from the backyard. Fresh greens, endive, chicory, cos lettuce. Havent used any soaked seed yet, do i need that? They used cotton and bits of grass to make the nest, mine are whistling and chasing the hens. I use base canary mix, mixed with niger, rape seed and before the breeding season pannikun. I have canary bowls stuck up all round the three sections.
Thanks Jack

I get a few handfuls of sunflower seed, put it in a calico bag (or could wrap in a rag or something) and belt it with hammer to crush the sunflower. Then feed this to siskens, cheaper than buying kernals.
I do a week or so at a time, and mix with niger seed. This, together with greens, leb cucumber and milk thistle is the staple diet.

If they love Sunflower Kernals so much does anyone feed them soaked or sprouted Sunflower seeds?
