These 2 Rosellas crashed into the window yesterday afternoon with a massive thud - no doubt flying together at full speed. Both were pretty much unconscious when I put them into the flight cage - both lying on their sides panting and couldn't stand at all. The hen had her eyes closed and blood from nostrils. I thought it unlikely she would survive. Anyway the first photo is early this morning with both looking fine so I opened the doors and off they went as if nothing had happened.

Must hurt a bit, pulling up that dramatically. Interesting that it was mature looking birds. Mostly, in my experience anyway it seems to be juveniles. Mind you my view has never warranted windows the size of yours Sam. Have never had any parrots, only softbills.

Tough nuts obviously. Or thick heads depending on how you look at it. Round here its only the wild doves, and mostly the young ones that crash, if the dog does not get them they recover. I shoo her away from them if Im quick enough, but Jack Russell's will hunt.
