Either you do not have enough nests, unlikely I suspect. :notsure: Or you do not have enough nests to their taste? :ooh: Try putting more nests of this type in? :whoa:

This is a holding aviary,it has young Sliverbills,Gouldians,Stars,Pictorellas,Crimsons & Cubans.
I put my Canaries to nest early this year (June) then took them out of their cabinets late September
and put them in the holding aviary till next March to give them some free flying time.
A couple of them showed signs of wanting to go to nest again so in went a couple of nest pans resulting
in 2 fledglings 2 young in the nest and 1 on eggs.So what I'm trying to say is the nests were put in for the Canaries.

Ahh, well then according to the birds you do not have enough nests. :ooh: Because if there are nests there will be birds choosing to use them, and not just the birds you wish to use them. :penguin: One of the inconveniences of bird breeding. :sob:

branchez, its no longer a "holding" aviary. :shifty:
most of us have limited space....i too placed nest boxes in a "holding" aviary that i had gouldians in....now of course its a breeding aviary!
and so the backyard slowly fills with another "holding" cage.
organised fincho's have more rather than less "holding" cages(note to self).
