Was out ringing some of my young this morning and thought I would check some nests that didnt have much action.
Boy was I wrong,
The nest is the result of a YB WB BH cock (from Gouldianpaul) x YB WB OH (from Suerus) hen and they look strong, fit and healthy.
I also found three more that my split blue pair hatch so I am hoping for some more blues (2 in the nest so far).
This takes my young tally up to 21 for the slow start to this season.
Thought I would share the action in this nest as I enjoy looking at others photos.
Judging by the young I am assuming that my yellow backs are actually single factor not double. I determined this because of the apparently normal looking young in this nest, also because of the way white breast changes a single factor bird from dilute green to yellow.
