I have read a million posts about Scatt and Air Sac Mites for Gouldians. I just want to confirm whether SCATT is the best possible option for the prevention and treatment of Air Sac Mites?
Secondly, can I get SCATT anywhere in Australia?
Thanks

SCATT isn't sold to the Australian public even though it is produced here. Most people here use Ivermectin or Moxidectin as preventative measures. They can be purchased in bulk for sheep quite easily but I have been told by several bird dealers that they are not allowed to sell them in small quantities and can only be purchased through a vet. They can however be mail ordered through Australian Wildlife Supplies.

I treat all my birds with Moxidectin (in water) for worms etc (from Australian Pigeon Company), but the strength of it is not enough to kill and prevent Air Sac Mites. I currently treat with an Ivermectin Solution made up by the vet but I have been reading that it is a very strong substance and so I began to wonder whether it was suitable as a regular preventative treatment. SCATT i know is atleast made up for birds, maybe I will try and buy some via the net.
Thanks

I use S76 from Dr Rob Marshall ( Carlingford Vet ).
Mail order is available for registered clients. I have never had a problem with adverse reactions etc and it is for treating and preventing air sac mites, gizzard worms, lice and red mites.
