Hi all ,
Haven't been on in a loooong time and thought I'd drop in for a sticky beak :-)
As you may recall , I was forced into a position where I was told I had to relocate to another residence due to my tenancy expiring and couldn't take my finches with me !
Well to cut a long moan short I sold all of my colony and grasses (blue caps , TCPFs , Diamonds , WH nuns , crimsons , Strawbs , etc etc) (a bunch of grasses now call Novas beauty of an aviary home  )
All birds sold with in 48 hrs of listing them , infact a very friendly chap took almost my entire colony !
Only for me to receive an email 36hrs after selling , that I no longer had to move !
Now I've had bad luck and worse timing before but this made me want to cry , so much so that I slipped into a mini depression !
I'd never realised just how much I enjoyed my hobby and craft , all the small things , the tips and tricks I'd picked up along the way , the culmination of years searching for the scarcer species and hard to come by grasses , all seemed to amounted to diddly squat !
One positive though ... I kept my modular aviaries that I picked up (but never got the chance to erect! ) !
And once again I'll be starting from scratch !
Another positive ... I can build that damned aviary I was planning on building ! ! No rookie errors this time !!! :D
To all that purchased birds or grasses from me , I'd love to hear from you as to how they're going and if need be I'd love to buy back some cuttings so that I may start over again !
Cheers for taking the time to have a read :)

Brad sorry to here that you had to get rid of your stock and how upsetting it was. On a brighter note you can rebuild better then before and maybe the people you sold to will have some offspring they can sell back to you.

Hi Brad, Sorry to hear that but just getting back on here is a good start back to where you were before that happened.I had a similar experience when i was diagnosed with cancer which forced me to sell my birds and pull down my aviaries but i am back to limited stock and alot smaller aviaries now.
It does get better and you WILL be back to your very best in aviculture in no time. Cheer up, Craig

Possitive thinking. It is an opportunity to build the perfect avairys, then stock them with the perfect collection. Good luck hope it all falls into place for you now.

At least you have something to plan and aim for. Thats half the fun. Shame about the poor info.

Hard sometimes to put a positive light on things, but at least you can start over with all your expeirence.
Let me know if you need some cuttings.
All the best.

Am so sorry you had to go through all that. You depression is understandable. Hope you are starting to feel better in spirits, and your plans for building new helps you find peace of mind. What kind of grasses did you have, if you don't mind my asking. Regards.

Thanks guys , it's onwards and upwards as they say .. keep an eye out for the new aviary and progress pics in the coming months ... ( if the minister for finance and home affairs gives a her approval :lolno:  )
Any suggestions for new and different stock for the new aviary ?
When built it should be around 8m L and 1.5 W by 1.8 H
Definitely going to have my faves again , Bue Caps , TCPFs , Diamonds and Crimsons
