First time registered on the forum.
Been into finches since I was a kid 35 years ago.
Have 3m x 2m aviary attached to kitchen windows, so family can see birds from inside, best build have ever done. Rain hail or shine can watch the flock.
Will post some pictures when I figure out how.

Welcome to the forum. Read your post and knew without looking at your avatar that you were from the eastern side of the country as building an avairy over a kitchen window is illegal under health and safety regulations in the west. Feather dust in food preperation areas being a health hazard. Sorry to rain on your parade, just giving you a heads up. Good luck with your finches and dont forget to start building the 2nd avairy over the Christmas hols.
