Burke's Backyard Finches

This has probably been posted before but came across this video again today.

I remember when this was on the TV and thinking how good Don's aviaries look in the landscaped setting.
A few other videos on finches floating around from Burke's Backyard which are nice to have a look back on.

As I remember it, Mr Burke bred the red-eared fire-taileds but lost them all because he didn't separate the young and a family feud erupted in the aviary! A lesson in managing species correctly especially if warned how to manage them!
That is my understanding, anyway. If I'm wrong, so be it.

You are correct Tom and with many other hard to come by species but your work comes first and you can't be in two places at once,sad but true. Craig
