I was out turning some hoses off this morning in preparation for another glorious day of 40+. I watched a small group of Double Bars eating seed heads in the grass the sprinkler system wets outside the garden. To my surprise a couple of Chestnut Breasts joined them. In 40 years of living here I have only seen them on two other occasions, once with a group of Zebras and the second time with a group of Plumheads. Both times in swampy ripairian situations, not out here along way from any water or tall grass.

Hi Willy, I seen a few up the road from you (38 kms) in June in Pallamallawa. They were with plumheads along the Gwydir river. They were not in huge numbers I seen about 20 to 30 over a few hours mixed in with the plummies. There was also a few red broweds lots of double bars and a handful of zebs. I spent four days around Morre finching but didnt see anything like the numbers in Pallamallawa. I suppose they move about a bit where ever the feed is.
