Would you believe it, I have just worked out that the 3 nests I have been collecting from over the past 6 months or so are being "worked" by someone else...

I'll have to work a bit harder to find more nests so that I don't over harvest these nests.

Should I leave these nests be and find my "own"?

Cheers Ian

How do you know someone else is using them,if the nest is damaged it's usually Echidna's using it. Craig

So were you guys on the same patch?
Not familiar with any termite etiquette.
Just one of the joys of collecting on public land.
I guess if neither party is raping the nests then I see no issue.

Nah its not Pictorella's patch. Haha.

I haven't been back there for a while, so don't know if the other person has been there recently. I don't go through a lot of termites at the moment, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Cheers Ian

Last time I had a termite thief on my patch it turned out to be a monitor:

Needless to say, I let her keep themn...

I think the answer to public termite etiquette is don't take too much and be prepared to share.
Avid amateur aviculturalist; I keep mostly australian and foreign finches.
