mix of species advice

Hi,
I've got two cages.

One cage has a breeding pair of zebra
One cage has a breeding pair of St Helena
I'm about to get a breeding pair double barred this afternoon
I'm looking to get a breeding pair of Gouldian in the near future

So that's four pair and two cages. Which would you put in each cage?
cages; 800 x 480 x 1000
This is until my aviary is built
maybe another cage to keep the zebras separate?
Put Gouldians off until the aviary is built?

Turns out I'm getting Gouldians and Double barred pairs in about an hour.
Any advice on housing would be appreciated.

Zebs and Double Bars can be quite rowdy and skittish. They might stress the comparatively more mellow Gouldians. I'd keep them together and let the Gouldians and Waxbills have the other cage.

That said; I don't think any combination of those species could cause serious issues.

I really don't agree that zebs and doublebars should be kept together in such small cages to breed,they may cross breed.I would suggest gouldians and doublebars and zebs and saints but give it a go to see what works and what doesn't. Craig

I assumed this was just a holding cage until the aviary was built. If you're breeding them, I agree they should be kept apart.

Took Shane's first post. They are holding cages as finches appear notoriously hard to get here (haven't quite cracked the local market) so grabbed them while I could. I got my wife to pick them up and I'm pretty sure they've gave me two double barred hen's instead of a mating pair. I'd post a picture but can't be bothered trying to figure out again how to get the photo to a small enough size (daddy daycare of 4 kids under 8 today.. ).

I find Double bars curious but otherwise placid. Saints placid with occassional curiosity. Gouldians can be quite aggresive but generally easy going so watch to discover personallity. Zebs outgoing but enjoyable. I would put the 1st two together and do. And the 2nd two together and do.

Agree. Zebs with Gould's and Double-bar with Saints.

If you are just holding them, it really doesn't matter. None of those are likely to injure each other.
