Lesson learnt

Just when you think you know everything, I have 3 flights and for some unknown reason birds have been freely moving between 2 of these flights( without my permission) for about a month. I have searched high and low for their exit/entry point to no avail. Today blue cap female was next door as usual but I know they're eggs are about to hatch, so I put termites in her aviary only and sat back and watched. Sure enough within 10 seconds she was back in her aviary. The reason...a 3" diameter perch had slipped out of the wire and dropped down 1" at the most, the whole 2 flights have been using this "door" even newly fledged chicks,but I have beaten them at last. P.S the Blue Caps have had 3 nests with eggs varying from 1 to 3 eggs with no luck, for a range different reasons maybe this time but........NEVER COUNT YOUR CHICKENS..............Holtz
