Hi all,
Just wondering if a female will pair with a new male during the breeding season? The male died last week. Just wondering if its worth while putting a new male in or just let her be for the rest of the season.

That will be fine, they will pair up readily if wanting to breed

Agree with VR1ton (who just beat me to it)...
Add a new male. Shouldn't be a problem.

Excellent. There is another pair in the avairy. So am I better off taking the female out and putting them both in a cage to get to know each other. Or just put him in the avairy and let them sort it out. I don't want anything to happen to the other pair. They seem to be going ok.

Whichever way you do it the new male will still have to sort out with the existing male as to who is the "boss guy" in the avairy. :urgh: Cause it's a bloke thing that they do.

I just went through the same situation and all I did was clean out old nest and add new male , they are both in and out of nest and going well after 10 days
