Hi Noel, there has been many experimental ways of breeding bush fly maggots from crushed up dry dog food, blood and bone and a few others and most people revert back to bran and calf replacement milk powder. The two i mentioned produce mould and bacteria more quickly that is gut loaded in the maggots and passed on to your birds which could make them sick.Noel gooley wrote:What to feed flys to breed maggots not bran and milk powder
Bran and milk powder is the way to go as the calf replacement milk powder contains all the vitamins and minerals and amino acids for a calf to grow imo. Welcome to the forum. Craig

Noel, i don't understand what you mean. If you are just talking about feeding flies place some sugar cubes with them and supply drinking water in a pickle/jam jar with a wick through the lid.
I haven't seen any post from "Frogs" on here. Craig
