Beautiful Queensland. Winter weather hasn't really hit yet, as evidenced by clutches of ruddies, silver nuns, plumheads, gouldians , bengalese and St Helenas all fledged in my mixed aviaries over the last few days. I thought they would be slowing down by now, but apparently not

My canary having 5th nest of the season as I was too slow to remove last clutch and nest. Was suggested to remove egg but could't throw it away. Hen is sitting on 4 eggs. Have to remove nest quick after these fledge to give her a well deserved break.

Good job fellas,
Got lazy, no nest boxes, just left the old scrub in. Didn't get rid of last years chicks because of a few health issues.Few painteds, but now have over 20 gould chicks and more coming. They build in the brush and along ledges where the brush lays. Reckon if I put a shoe box on the ground they would have a go. Getting decidedly crowded. Have to catch up and use the holding cage for the first time in 2 years. My gould chicks are starting to colour/dance already. Seems early to me.
Anyhow, let them keep on doing what they do, they know when the time is right to stop or keep going.
Good luck to all
Ken.
