Are Oleander bushes alright to plant in aviaries, i know they are poisonous to humans but what about finches?

I was always told that Oleander is poisonous to birds, and that they will always avoid the plant, even in the wild.

I always work on the "why risk it" basis. If you want pretty flowers plant roses, if you want something native plant bottlebrush.
