Nice work Mick. My painteds are on eggs now. Were yours reared on termites?
Seems to be plenty of painteds around here Suerus if you care for a bit of a drive. Might have fun getting someone to part with only hens though.

havent been able to get any termites for months. luckily for me the birds have all been happy enough to eat mini mealworms and maggots. plus the occasional moth which has ventured into the aviary.

Thanks Matt - But around an 8 hour round trip for some painted hens - I dont fancy my chances of convinincing my husband that that is a good idea!!
Does anyone think it would be ok to pop the two males into my aviary ( already have pairs of stars and parrot finches in there ) or would it be better to wait until I have the hens and then put them all in? Would they disrupt the other birds without their own girls ??

One of the best pictures I've seen of the surface on Mars...

Better to put complete pairs in I would have thought Suerus...less disruptive if they have their own hens to keep 'em occupied.

the way the birds are breeding at present Paul I reckon that being on mars wouldnt stop them.
firefinches are back on eggs, orange breasts also. one pair of goulds is busy building.
the mars effect would disappear if you would just share that rain you always get
