Decided a trip to the local shop was necessary, and came across some interesting/ way overpriced birds (i personally believe so).
What was found was a heavily pied king quail. Without looking at a price tag I thought of buying, who wouldnt want one lol, but I scanned for its price and hazard a guess how much it was?
For a pair, you could own these intriguing pied quail for $300... For king quail :eh:. Guess what I'm getting into :lolno:
Other things spotted were Ornate Lorries, already bought by someone else but for $1800, which I've been told was quite cheap, no clue with parrots, and a pair of red duskies for $1600. Overall though, was impressed with healthiness of the birds which is always a great sign.

Pied king quail, are something new. I my memory serves me correctly: E.Orix had his hands in the developing.
Depending on the lorikeets mutation: 1800, could be fair.
Red lory's: 1600 is fair: depending on age.
I have lorikeets that far exceed those prices. On the same note: I have fallen in love with this frisky bird.

Tried some years ago to establish Pied King Quail. Absolutely no luck. But not kean enough to pay $300 So I will just stick to playing with dilutes and different shades of fawn/cinnamon. Because yes they are not all the same.
