zebras & societies dont seem to worry about any scent we leave behind.
all I do before touching eggs or nests is to rub my hands in the bird seed, dont really know if it makes any difference though

Eggs can be damaged when handled in our hands and the moisture and sweat in our hands can absorb into the eggs damaging the embryo, if you can candle them without handling them that would be best, or you can use a utensils to pick them up.
