I,m away from home for 3 weeks working in Brisbane, Just had a call from my wife who is looking after my birds to report 5 deaths in custody, 3 young zebs, a quail and a male gouldian. I have never lost more than 1 bird on a day, it seems strange to lose 5, my wife has no idea what has happened only that it was a very cold night. I dont want to blame my wife and cause her any stress. I can only wait and see what tomorrow brings.
Enjoy every sandwich
I'm so sorry, do you cover your cages or aviaries with something to keep them warmer? Hope no other bird dies.

Yes Finches also have night fright, Espically the gouldians since they have such poor eyesight as soon as its dark, they fly everywhere cause they can't see the perches. its scary when you here the birds banging and crashing into the aviary walls.

Ive seen night frights with my hand reared Quarrions a few times , once my girl injured herself so bad there was blood splatters on the wall a meter away , thought I was going to lose her that time .....now all my parrots indoor and out have a night light , seems to be doing the trick...
