Welcome to the Forum. If it is a Goldfinch maybe one of the Kindy parents have canarys with chicks that can foster it? They are similar enough for the job.

I am concerned if there are gold finches living in Australia. Possibly a honey eater. Can you post a picture of it?
If it's a honey eater or native bird, most vets have a list of people that take in and care for orphan birds and you can take the bird to them.
