Beautiful firetail

First I'm hoping the photo I uploaded has done so correctly so my question can be answered
I am a little confused regarding the photo of this finch .. from what I can find it's called a Beautiful Firetail ... is there another name for it as I can't find it on the finch compatibility charts.
I'm obviously missing something?? Could anyone tell me if this is the correct name for it and the temperament,

Umm yes as far as I'm concerned that's a beautiful firetail, don't think there's an alternate name for it.

Ok, I just can't find it in the compatibility charts, is it placid? Or is it like the diamond firetail which I have read are a little aggressive.

I don't really know, but birdcare.com.au says this: "Although the the Beautiful firetail finch can successfully be bred in a mixed species finch aviary, they are best housed as one pair per aviary. "

If you are planning to keep and breed them I would not reccomend it as they are quite rare in Australian aviculture and are also difficult to breed.

Rare and expensive and require lots of prior experience with easier finches. Think that about sums them up. But they are beautiful and to aspire to in the long term.

Only selected people can keep this species
One thing that's for sure with Beautiful Firetails, is that keeping them alive is a struggle, let alone breeding them
Highly specialized conditions are required for them that many breeders find very hard to abide by, because of how hard they are to cater for

The Beautiful Firetail and Red Eared Firetail are rare in Australian aviculture and difficult aviary subjects to breed due to their specialist requirements. They are the last two Australian species to be domesticated to aviary life and come with a large suggested price tag of over a grand.

i was hoping to see these in the wild while in WA couple of weeks ago,alas no luck,have to try again,one to aim for breeding wise,cheers garyh

That would be great Gary would love to see RE's in the wild. I had a go with RE's but lost the hens whilst they were sitting on eggs that were fertile but for some reason the hens never left the nest to feed themselves and starved themselves to death. If i knew this was going to happen i would have fostered them to another pr of other finches breeding at the same time.
