HI, I'm so appreciating the information available on Finch Forum. My 3 society finches all seem to have mites and I think I have let it go to long thinking they were just grooming each other. One of them lived in an outdoor cage for a while and probably picked them up there.
I've been reading your information about mites and have these questions:
1. do I need to have a vet who will prescribe these medications? (not the cider vinegar obviously)
2. If not, could you give me the manufacturers name so I can find them for myself: Ivamecden and S76 and Scat.
3. If they have bald spots and even some apparent holes in their skin is it too late to treat them myself.
In Portland Oregon where I live there are only 2 Vets who treat birds and they are crazy expensive. But I don't want to neglect this sweet birds if that is what they need. Do you think I beyond treating them myself.
Thank you so much,
Audy
