Cant half tell other finchers are having a bumper breeding season , the pet shops here are chockers with young finches ....
plenty of yellow and red stars , strawbs , goulds , zebs of all colours , orange breasts , parrot finches and the most gawjus pair of white front goulds , god only knows how I resisted them .
Oh well maybe when I take the Turks and Scarlets in I can do a deal with the owner .

When things are quiet in my aviaries, it's time for a change. I think sometimes they just get sick of the same old boring routine and scenery. Split the pairs up, or rearrange the aviaries, re-brush, swap pairs into different aviaries. I have had plenty of pairs do nothing in one aviary and then as soon as they are moved to new scenery they are nesting within days.
