Nice Cordon bleu bub there. I'm jealous (I can't get them here). Was it a single flegling from the clutch or were there more?

There were four - but I found one dead yesterday morning. They are almost independant now so it was a bit of a shock to see the little dead one - I thought they had made it far enough to be more or less safe. For first time parents they did well though.

Yeah it's a bugger when it happens but while it looks to be for no reason there obviously is one and survival of the fittest means the remaining gene pool is stronger. Not much consolation. Do you geed mealies or are you one of the lucky ones that can get termites?

No termites - only mini mealworms - that photo was only the first day out of the nest - much fatter and fluffier now!
