Hi all i went to the Melbourne sale the other week and there was a guy there selling fresh green white french millet sprays,
i was at the geelong show and was told he would be there again, but unfortunately he wasn't :( . My finches love the seed heads and have started building more nests and showing a lot more excitement to breed. Problem is i didn't buy enough to freeze and was hoping someone would know the guy i bought the sprays off or another dealer i can get a whole heap to freeze and store???????

May be if you contact the Melbourne sale organisers they would probably have a trader list they might be able to help with a contact number.

There are two possibilities
Ray Lowe from Queensland markets a produce which is White or Red Millet havested at the milk stage.
It is then frozen in 1 Kg plastic containers and sold that way. Birds R Us generally stock it.
The second possiblity is frozen White Millet heads or sprays. This is a complete head with the birds eating the seed
then generally using the remainder for nesting material. This is quite easy to freeze and keeps very well.
Infact most seeding heads freeze well simply pack the heads in an air tight plastic bag and stick them in the freezer.
