Ok so i got my first batch of 6 babys flying around there about 6 weeks outta the nest now. And the same parents nested again laid eggs and such, and are now outta the nest theyve been out for about 6 days now but im not hearing the incessant chirping i was hearing before. Also i havent noticed the parents going in and out of the nest box.

The babies hop in and out of some of the nest boxes so maybe im thinking theyve made there parents abandon the nest? What do you all do with your babies?

Also i m pretty sure one of my other new cock birds are orange headed whitebreast was feeding a baby in the same nest box but now i dont notice anything.

Should i open it up and have a look? Imbit hesitant to disturb anyhting but i cant stop thinking maybe there dead all there just left there.

I find my Goulds to be tolerant of nest inspections - I also leave the babies in the same aviary as their parents. I mainly do this as I have read that juveniles are more prone to stress during capture / moving etc than adults ( also due to space restrictions!! )

as soon as my young gouldians have been out of the nest for 4 weeks I move them to a holding aviary.
where they stay until fully coloured
