Bald baby...pic added

First time gouldian parents laid 4 eggs, one hatched and has now fledged. I think the parents have been eager to get started on the second clutch as this baby is as bald as a badger! No feathers on the head, shoulders, or belly, no blood at all, just bald. Will get a pic soon.
Im lucky that he/she seems to be getting around the cage ok as there are feathers on the wings. This pair are also housed in a cabinet in a large shed so its not subject to the cold as much.

:?: Just leave it alone and see what happens?

:?: If they are that keen to get back to egg laying will they continue feeding the fledgling?

:?: When the new feathers come in would they be in the adult colour? I already know its going to be a BH PC GB

As you can see they really wanted that baby out of there.......cock bird already to and fro with nesting material, he keeps pulling apart the old nest and rebuilding as I havnt put new stuff in there yet.

the latest gouldian mutation perhaps

all you can do will be to make sure it is always in a warm place and then wait for it to moult.
fingers crossed all the adult feathers come through

Another thing I noticed is the crop is empty at the moment.

I dont think I will have time to knit that vest, I can see the tips of yellow belly feathers, and black head feathers already, at the rate these feathers are growing he/she will have its adult feathers before its weaned!

Still being fed too.
