1 Cup of seed (normaly the seed they usually get fed)
1 Egg White (not yolk) per Cup of seed
20cm piece of wire (curl at one end and stick into the seed bell with enough wire sticking out to make a hook to hang up in cage)
1 Terracotta Pot (small or what ever size desired) small fits best with one cup of seed)
1 Oven Bag (place in terracotta pot before placing the seed & wire in)
Make sure you mix the egg white evenly threw the seed!
Preheat oven at 100c, Cook for 1 hour.
I also add a spoon of shell grit to the mix!
and if i have any, dryied crushed chicken egg shells! (finely crushed)I love doing this for my birds and they love them just as much, they hook into the home made one before the seed bells and seed treat sticks i buy from the supermarket!
) but they can devour these in 5 minutes flat so went back to the store bought ones ( super sized and super glued ) but will try this for the finches who may not be so piggy .
