Well I have another one, doing the same thing, staring at the bands and stamping the feet.
Just out curiosity I checked on the parents of this bird and the first one that stamped its feet....Yup same parents, so it looks like the family trait has passed down again. Another bird doing weird stuff.
Was watching Mr Emblema this morning (who is still in DIY mode) he was repeatedly flying back and forward to this one branch, dancing about at one particular place right up against the wire and really stretching to see over the steel plate to the floor outside the aviary. When I looked all I could see was some dried up leaves, so I put them in through the wire, he checked them out and ignored them. He was still dancing about so I looked again and saw a bit of white stuffing type fluff (the sons dog ripped up a toy) so I put that through the wire. Before I got back on my seat to watch he had it and was pulling it to bits and within a minute it had been incorporated into the nest, carefully stuffing it around Mrs Emblema
If a bird could have an expression on their face! She just sat there looking at the white fluff!Mrs Emblema hardly leaves the nest, think she's frightened that if she leaves for too long she wouldnt be able to find the front door again. ;)
