Anybody got any experience with Chestnut Teals, bought a pair back if Febuary, settled in nicely, but no sign of any attempt to breed, or lay for that matter. They should be going down now, even the Wood Ducks down the road have got young.

Yep, need a class 2 for them. I've breed hundreds of Muscovies, as a kid, couldn't stop them, would put a besser blok in the nest to stop them going broody, & the bloody things would try and incubate the besser block. But the Teals are another story, they start about June or July and go through to December or so.

Don't know about tiel, but woodys Pop used to keep, needed copious quantities of Lucerne Pop cut it fresh from the paddock but then he'd set their eggs under Muscovies.
